Video
Submissions
Here at Hello! Video, we
love videos that are entertaining and under
five minutes. And hey, so does our audience! As you make
your submission, please remember to send only duplicates of your
work (originals will not be returned)
using the
following
guidelines:
Send us a Mini DV or disc with DV-format QuickTime video,
along with a completed submission
form. If you send
us video on disc, please be aware that it has to retain television-like
quality to be shown. We will also need explicit written permission from the copyright
holder, so be sure to fill out the PDF!
Note that we also love to put 1/4-size, compressed videos on the website as well.
Be sure to let us know if that's okay with you when sending in your submission.
What to include with your submission: a
picture of the author(s), biography, a brief description of the
piece, a still image from the work, the running time of the work, and the equipment
and methods used in making the piece. Please indicate that you
grant permission for your piece to be shown,
and also
indicate
if it may be included on the website. You may email some of this
information, but we must receive it before
the
show.
For
your
convenience,
we
have
created
a Submission
Form in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, which you can easily
download and print out.
Work is due for consideration two weeks before the show (at the
latest). Submissions do not presently cost money, nor do we presently
award money for work shown, though you and a friend do get free admission.

Flash
Submissions
Hello! Video does accept Flash submissions. We need to have the
Flash source file (the .fla file) or a high quality Quicktime export.
We especially enjoy short one or two minute pieces, we like to
show them in between other videos during the show.
We are also interested in your Flash art for the website itself.
From time to time we integrate the publicity for the show (posters,
handbills, full-page newspaper ads) with the website, and it's
nice to have a splash screen to match the poster. If you are interested
please contact us and share your ideas.
Publicity
Designs
For each Hello! Video show we need to make flyers and publicize
the event. In order to do this, each month we have to have interesting
and different flyer designs. Thusly I am interested in having others
do designs for the flyers, which we can then distribute and use.
This makes them more eye-catching, fun, and interesting. If you'd
like to design a flyer just let me know. Generally they are due
two weeks before a show.
